SUBJECT:

NOMINATION FOR JUDGES WHO WILL SERVE AT THE KHMER ROUGE TRIBUNAL

The International Criminal Law Services Foundation (ICLS) is currently working together with the Open Society Justice Initiative (OSJI) to assist in the identification of government nominees for judges, investigating judges and prosecutors to serve at the Khmer Rouge Tribunal. This Tribunal will be established to try senior Khmer Rouge leaders most responsible for serious crimes from 1975 to 1979 under Cambodian and International law.

The ICLS and OSJI are now accepting nominations for a high level position for the proposed "Khmer Rouge Tribunal" (Extraordinary chambers for the period of the Democratic Kampuchea) to be established in Cambodia in 2005. Those interested may submit their curriculum vitae and other relevant information. (Articles of judgment written, etc) to this Office.

"A.M. No. 05-4-03-SC- Re: Nomination for the Proposed "Khmer Rouge Tribunal" (Extraordinary Chambers for the Period of the Democratic Kampuchea) to be Established in Cambodia in 2005.- The Court Resolved to NOTE and REFER the following documents to Court Administrator PRESBITERO J. VELASCO, JR., for his information and other appropriate action:

(a) Letter dated 21 March 2005 of Maria Lourdes V. Ramiro Lopez, Assistant Secretary, Office of United Nations and Other International Organizations, Department of Foreign Affairs, forwardin'g a copy of an invitation letter addressed to the Embassy of the Philippines in the Hague from Mr. Gabriel Oosthuizen, Executive Director of the International Criminal Law Services Foundation, concerning nominations for high level candidates for the proposed "Khmer Rouge Tribunal" (Extraordinary Chambers for the Period of the Democratic Kampuchea) to be established in Cambodia in 2005; and

(b) Aforesaid Invitation Letter dated 7 March 2005 ."
