SUBJECT : LIFTING OF SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR SIX (6) MONTHS OF ATTY. ALVIN CALINGIN

For your information and guidance/ quoted hereunder is the Resolution of the Second Division dated 02 September 2015 in Administrative Case No. 5413, entitled "Ramon Contreras vs. Atty. Alvin Calingin," to wit:

Considering respondent Atty. Alvin Calingin's (1) manifestation of compliance dated 6 Feoruary 2015, alleging that upon receipt of the Resolution dated 5 December 2011 on 4 March 2012, he immediately desisted from the practice.of law including his notarial commission attaching therewith Certifications from the IBP Misamis Oriental Chapter and courts of Cagayan de Oro City, all affirming that respondent has not appeared in court as counsel from 14 March 2012 to 13 February 2013, and since then has resumed his practice of law; and (2) supplemental manifestation of compliance dated 27 February 2015 stating, among other matter, that he has already paid complainant the amount of P100,00.00 as mandated in the Resolution dated 5 December 2011, with attached receipt of payment and affidavit of satisfaction by complainant, the Court resolves to LIFT the order of suspension against respondent Atty. Alvin Calingin from the practice of law for six (6) months, and to ALLOW him to resume his practice of law.
