SUBJECT: LIFTING OF SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW OF ATTY. JONATHAN T. SEMPIO

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 11 January 2017 of the Special First Division in Administrative Case No. 10378, entitled "Jose Francisco T. Baens v. Atty. Jonathan T. Sempio," to wit:

(1) to GRANT the motion of respondent Atty. Jonathan T. Sempio to lift the order of his suspension (with enclosures), alleging that upon receipt of the decision suspending him from the practice of law on September 15, 2014, he immediately desisted from the practice of law and has not appeared in court as counsel nor filed any pleading before any court during the entire period of his suspension and even to date, and attaching therewith certifications from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines' Pasay-Paranaque-Las Pinas and Muntinlupa Chapter and from different courts of Pasay City, Paranaque City, Las Pinas and Muntinlupa City, all attesting that respondent has not engaged in the practice of law and has not appeared as counsel nor filed any pleading with any case from September 2014 to the resent;

(2) to LIFT the order of suspension of respondent Atty. Jonathan T. Sempio from the practice of law and ALLOW him to resume his practice of law effective from notice hereof; and

(3) to DISPENSE WITH the directive addressed to the complainant in the Resolution dated June 8, 2016, considering that respondent in his motion to lift order of suspension, informed the Court that he was able to personally secure a copy of the Decision on September 15, 2014.

The Report dated November 23 2016 of the Office of the Bar Confidant is NOTED.
