SUBJECT: LIFTING OF SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW OF ATTY. CASAN MACABANDING

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 9 July 2018 of the Special Third Division in Administrative Case No. 7919, entitled "Domado Disomimba Sultan vs. Atty. Casan Macabanding," to wit:

This refers to the Report and Recommendation dated . May 30, 2018 of the Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC), stating that in the Resolution dated March 5, 2018, the Court held in abeyance the lifting of the order of suspension of respondent from the practice of law pending the submission of the required IBP Local Chapter certification and required him to file a motion to lift the order of disqualification from being commissioned as notary public after full service thereof and submit similar certifications, and that respondent, in compliance therewith, filed a motion to lift order of suspension from the practice of law dated May 23, 2018, submitting the required certification from the IBP Lanao del Sur-Marawi Chapter dated May 21, 2018, affirming that respondent has ceased and desisted from attending trials in Courts of Marawi and Lanao del Sur from December 1, 2015 to December 30, 2016.

The Court, upon the recommendation of OBC, resolves to LIFT the order of suspension from the practice of law meted against respondent and ALLOW him to RESUME his practice of law; however, the order of his disqualification from being commissioned as notary public remains effective until his full service on December 11, 2018.

The said report and recommendation of the OBC is NOTED.
