SUBJECT : Acceptance of Old Central Bank Coins for Replacement/Exchange Pursuant to BSP Circular No. 81, Series of 1995
Further to our Circular-Letter dated January 7, 1997 on above-captioned subject, enjoining all banks to accept the "old coins in any amount that may be tendered to them by the public for the purpose of exchange/replacement with the new BSP coins or banknotes up to January 2, 1998," you are hereby advised to desist from releasing/reissuing or recirculating to the public such old CB coins accepted for exchange/deposit to ensure the expeditious withdrawal from circulation of the demonetized coins.
