T O : JUDGES AND COURT PERSONNEL OF THE REGIONAL TRIAL COURTS, METROPOLITAN TRIAL COURTS MUNICIPAL TRIAL COURTS IN CITIES, MUNICIPAL TRIAL COURTS, AND MUNICIPAL CIRCUIT TRIAL COURTS
SUBJECT : CELEBRATION BY THE CHURCH AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PRISON AWARENESS WEEK AND THE NATIONAL CORRECTIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS WEEK FROM OCTOBER 25 to 31,1999.
On October 25 to 31, 1999, the Church and the Government will be celebrating the PRISON AWARENESS WEEK AND THE NATIONAL CORRECTIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS WEEK. In this connection, CARITAS Manila, through its Prison Justice and Development Program, is requesting all judges and court personnel of the Regional Trial Courts, Metropolitan Trial Courts, Municipal Trial Courts in Cities, Municipal Trial Courts, and Municipal Circuit Trial Courts to visit the provincial, city, or municipal jails within their respective jurisdiction.
In support of this celebration, and to promote awareness in the Judiciary of the plight of the inmates conformably with the mandate of the law, Judges and court personnel of the Regional Trial Courts, Metropolitan Trial Courts, Municipal Trial Courts in Cities, Municipal Trial Courts and ' Municipal Circuit Trial Courts are encouraged to visit the provincial, city, or municipal jails and prisons within their respective jurisdictions.
The Executive Judges shall schedule the jail visitation by the judges and court personnel under their respective administrative supervision in a manner that would not disrupt court proceedings. Affected parties and their counsel shall be notified in advance of any changes in the court calendar by reason of this activity.
