SUBJECT:
OPEN HOUSE OF HALLS OF JUSTICE AND COURTS NATIONWIDE ON 19 SEPTEMBER 2005
One of the activities to commemorate the upcoming mandatory retirement of Chief Justice Hilario G. Davide, Jr. is the Open House of Halls of Justices and Courts to coincide with the celebration of the National Law Day on 19 September 2005.
The venues for the said activity are the Halls of Justice of the Cities of Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Makati, Pasay and Quezon. Said courts are open to visitors, especially elementary and high school students, who wish to familiarize themselves with the justice system.
Pursuant to SC Administrative Circular No. 32-2005 dated 20 July 2005 and to ensure the success of the Open House project, all court proceedings of the aforementioned participating courts shall be suspended. The Judges should see to it that their respective court calendars are properly managed and that parties are notified in advance of the cancellation of hearings.
All concerned executive judges shall likewise ensure that no other activity or program is scheduled on 19 September 2005 which will conflict with the Open House project. Any activity or program scheduled for that day should be reset to another date.
