SUBJECT : SUSPENSION OF ATTY. SERGIO F. ANGELES FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR ONE (1) YEAR

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 3 October 2016 of the First Division in Administrative Case No. 7470, entitled "Mario Samson, Milagros Francisco, et al. v. Atty. Sergio F. Angeles," to wit:

The Court resolves to NOTE the Notice of Resolution No. XX-2013-173 dated November 30, 2013 of the Board of Governors of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines which adopted and approved the report and recommendation of the Investigating Commissioner and suspended respondent Atty. Sergio F. Angeles from the practice of law for one (1) year for violation of the rule on conflict of interest and unethical behavior in his dealings with complainants, particularly Rule 15.03 of Canon 15 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, transmitted by letter dated June 20, 2014 of Director Dominic CM. Solis, Integrated Bar of the Philippines' Commission on Bar Discipline, together with the records and the compact disc/containing the PDF file of the case.

The Court resolves to ADOPT and APPROVE the recommendation of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines' Board of Governors in the Notice of Resolution No. XX-2013- 173 dated November 30, 2013 (Annex "A") which adopted and approved the report and recommendation of the Investigating Commissioner. Accordingly, respondent Atty. Sergio F. Angeles is SUSPENDED from the practice of law for one (1) year effective from notice hereof, for violation of the rule on conflict of interest and unethical behavior in his dealings with complainants, particularly Rule 15.03 of Canon 15 of the Code of Professional Responsibility.
