[ SC CIRCULAR NO. 11-2000, February 10, 2000 ]

TO:

THE COURT OF APPEALS, SANDIGANBAYAN, COURT OF TAX APPEALS, REGIONAL TRIAL COURTS, SHARI'A DISTRICT COURTS, METROPOLITAN TRIAL COURTS, MUNICIPAL TRIAL COURTS IN CITIES, MUNICIPAL TRIAL COURTS, MUNICIPAL CIRCUIT TRIAL COURTS, SHARI'A CIRCUIT COURTS AND THE INTEGRATED BAR OF THE PHILIPPINES

SUBJECT: SUSPENSION OF ATTY. FRANCISCO R. LLAMAS FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR ONE (1) YEAR

Quoted hereunder for the information and guidance of all concerned are pertinent portions of the decision of the 2nd Division of this Court, in Administrative Case No. 4749 entitled, “Soliman M. Santos, Jr. vs. Atty. Francisco R. Llamas" dated January 20, 2000, to wit:

"xxx

Respondent's failure to pay his IBP dues and his misrepresentation in the pleadings he filed in court indeed merit the most severe penalty. However, in view of respondent's advanced age, his express willingness to pay his dues and plea for a more temperate application of the law8, we believe the penalty of one year suspension from the practice of law or until he has paid his IBP dues, whichever is later, is appropriate.

WHEREFORE, respondent Atty. Francisco R. Llamas is SUSPENDED from the practice of law for ONE (1) YEAR, or until he has paid his IBP dues, whichever is later.

xxx"

February 10, 2000.
