ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISION OF COURTS

ALL JUSTICES OF THE COURT OF APPEALS AND SANDIGANBAYAN AND ALL JUDGES OF THE COURT OF TAX APPEALS, THE REGIONAL TRIAL COURTS IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL JUDICIAL REGION, AND THE METROPOLITAN TRIAL COURTS

The Philippine International Conference on Constitutional Principles and Issues (In Observance of the First Anniversary of the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines and the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution)

The Philippine International Conference on Constitutional Principles and Issues (In Observance of the First Anniversary of the 1987 Constitution of the Philippines and the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution) will be held on February 17 to 20, 1988. Her Excellency, President Corazon C. Aquino, is the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker at the Inaugural and Opening Plenary Session on February 18, 1988 at 9:30 A.M., at the Philippine International Convention Center. All other sessions will be held at the Philippine Plaza. Guests attending the inaugural session must be seated at 9:00 A.M.

All members of the Judiciary in the Metropolitan Manila area may attend this conference on official time. The organizing committee of the conference has invited distinguished personalities in law including Chief Justices and Legal scholars from Southeast Asian countries and the United States. The conference is divided into eight (8) sessions covering the following: Constitutionalism; Human Rights; Self-Government & the Role of Citizens; The Constitution & The National Economy; The Legislative Process; The Executive Power; Judicial Independence & Constitutional Interpretation; and the Role of the Military in a Constitutional Democracy.

Attendance at the Inaugural Ceremonial Session does not require prior registration and this circular will serve as invitation for the session. Attendance in all other sessions will require registration. The registration fee is P500.00 per participant. Members of the judiciary in the Metropolitan Manila area desiring to register as delegates may secure registration forms for advance registration from the Clerk of Court, Atty. Daniel Martinez, who is the Administrative Officer of the conference.
