SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF ATTY. CARLOS P. RIVERA AND BARRED FROM BEING COMMISSIONED AS NOTARY PUBLIC FOR ONE (1) YEAR

In the decision of the Court En Banc dated November 20, 2006, in Administrative Case No. 7123 entitled, "Maria Divina Cruz-Villanueva vs. Atty. Carlos P. Rivera and Atty. Alexander P. Simeon, Jr." respondent Atty. Carlos P. Rivera was suspended from the practice of law for one (1) year, effective upon finality of the decision and was barred from being commissioned as Notary Public for one (1) year and his present commissioned, if any, was revoked.

In the same decision, Atty. Rivera was ordered to account to complainant, within 20 days from notice of this decision, for the P80,000.00 and the P13,000.00. The decision was received by respondent's counsel on January 2, 2007. Respondent did not file any motion for reconsideration.

The complaint against Atty. Alexander P. Simeon, Jr. was dismissed. For your information and guidance.
