SUBJECT : LIFTING OF SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW OF ATTY. JOSE B. ALVAREZ, SR.

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 20 April 2016 of the Court (Third Division) in A.C. No. 9723, (Re: Resolution dated December 4, 2000 in G.R. No. 126025 [People vs. Joselito Almendral] vs. Atty. Jose B. Alvarez, Sr.), to wit:

The Court resolves to NOTE the pleadings filed by Atty. Jose B. Alvarez, Sr. in G.R. No. 126025, to wit:

(1) Manifestation with Prayer to Issue a Final Order of Lifting My Suspension dated 14 July 2015 for reasons that the period of his suspension has already expired on June 9, 2001, and that he has already paid the fine of Three Thousand Pesos (P3,000.00), with annexes; and

(2) Motion to Admit (Incorporated) Sworn Statement filed on February 29, 2016 relative to the Resolution of August 12, 2015 which required him to submit all the needed certifications attesting to the truth of his sworn statement dated April 29, 2013, and CONSIDER the same as compliance in this case with the Resolution dated August 12, 2015.

Accordingly, the Court LIFTS the order of suspension of Atty. Jose B. Alvarez, Sr.
