SUBJECT : SUSPENSION OF ATTY. ELEANOR A. MARAVILLA-ONA FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR THREE (3) YEARS

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 12 July 2016 of the Court En Banc in Administrative Case No. 10944, entitled "Norma M. Gutierrez v. Atty. Eleanor A. Maravilla- Ona," to wit:

WHEREFORE,- premises considered, respondent ATTY. ELEANOR A. MARAVILLA-ONA is SUSPENDED from the practice of law for three (3) years. She is WARNED that a repetition of the same or similar offense shall be dealt with more severely.

Atty. Maravilla-Ona is also ORDERED to return to complainant Norma Gutierrez the full amount of P 65,000.00 within ninety (90) days from the finality of this Resolution. Failure to comply with this directive will merit the imposition of the more severe penalty of disbarment from the practice of law, which this Court shall impose based on the complainant's motion with notice duly furnished to Atty. Maravilla-Ona. This penalty shall be in lieu of the penalty of suspension hereinabove imposed.
