SUBJECT: SUSPENSION OF ATTY. JOSE MA. SAAVEDRA FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR FIVE (5) MONTHS

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 17 August 2016 of the First Division in Administrative Case No. 6054, entitled "Mercibel E. Anderson, formerly Mercibel E. Vda. De Deocariza and Enrique Enriquez, Attorney-in-fact v. Atty. Jose Ma. Saavedra," to wit:

The Court resolves to ADOPT and APPROVE the recommendations of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines' Board of Governors in its Notice of Resolution No. XX-2011-269 dated November 19, 2011 and Notice of Resolution No. XX-2012-532 dated December 14, 2012 (Annexes "A" and "B"). Accordingly:

(1) the respondent's motion for reconsideration of the Notice of Resolution No. XX-2011-269 dated November 19, 2011 of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines' Board of Governors is DENIED , and

(2) respondent Atty. Jose Ma. Saavedra is SUSPENDED from the practice of law for five (5) months from notice hereof, for violation of the rule on forum shopping and for gross misconduct.
