SUBJECT : SUSPENSION OF ATTY. MARIE FRANCES E. RAMON FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR FIVE (5) YEARS

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Decision dated 19 July 2016 of the Court En Banc in Administrative Case No. 11078, entitled "Verlita V. Mercullo and Raymond Vedano v. Atty. Marie Frances E. Ramon," to wit:

WHEREFORE, the Court FINDS and HOLDS ATTY. MARIE FRANCES E. RAMON guilty of violating Canon 1, Rule 1.01 of the Code of Professional Responsibility and the Lawyer's Oath; SUSPENDS HER FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR A PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS EFFECTIVE FROM NOTICE, with the STERN WARNING that any similar infraction in the future will be dealt with more severely;. ORDERS her to return to the complainants the sum of P 350,000.00 within 30 days from notice, plus legal interest of 6% per annum reckoned from the finality of this decision until full payment; and DIRECTS her to promptly submit to this Court written proof of her compliance within the same period of 30 days from notice of this decision.
