TO : ALL JUDGES AND CLERKS OF COURT OF ALL REGIONAL TRIAL COURTS

SUBJECT : INVENTORY OF ALL CARNAPPING CASES FILED AND DECIDED FROM THE PERIOD JANUARY 2010 TO DECEMBER 2010

There is a need to monitor and give special attention to all cases filed and decided regarding violation of R.A. 6539 (Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972).

In this regard, all judges and clerks of court of all Regional Trial Courts are hereby directed to submit a report on the following data covering the period 01 January 2010 to 31 December 2010:

1) the number of carnapping cases filed;

2) the number of carnapping cases.decided;

3) the number of cases that resulted in acquittal or conviction; and

4) if it resulted in acquittal, the reasons therefor.

Also, all judges and clerks of court are required to include in their report the total number of pending criminal cases for carnapping as of 31 December 2010.

Submission of the required report should be made on or before 15 February 2011.
