SUBJECT : SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR SIX (6) MONTHS OF ATTY. MAXIMINO GALOS, JR.

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the dispositive portion of the Resolution of the First Division dated 8 September 2014 in Administrative Case No. 5874 entitled "Generoso Defante v. Atty. Maximino Galos, Jr.," to wit:

The Court RESOLVES to ADOPT and APPROVE the findings'of fact, conclusions of law, and recommendation of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in the attached Resolution dated April 15, 2013. Accordingly, the Court finds respondent Atty. Maximino Galos, Jr. GUILTY of violating Canon 8, Rule 8.02 of the Code of Professional Responsibility and is, thus, meted with the penalty of SUSPENSION for a period of six (6) months. Respondent is further ORDERED to pay the FINE of P1,000.00 pursuant to the Court's Resolution dated March 17, 2004.

It appearing that the copy of the Resolution dated March 3, 2014 sent to complainant at his address on record was returned unserved with notation "RTS-Deceased," the Court further resolves:

to NOTE the said unserved copy of the resolution; and

to consider the said resolution as SERVED .
