AUTHORIZING THE CONDUCT OF APJR SHOWCASE IN VARIOUS CONVENTIONS AND THE ATTENDANCE OF SOME SUPREME COURT PERSONNEL FOR THE PURPOSE

WHEREAS, on various dates in 2005, Judge-to-Judge dialogues were conducted on the theme The Role of Judges in the Reform Process, with the objective of promoting awareness of the projects under the Action Program for Judicial Reform (APJR) and soliciting the views of judges on the reform efforts;

WHEREAS, in line with the said objective, a showcase and photo exhibit of judicial reform projects accompanied the presentations in the dialogues to highlight the APJR accomplishments;

WHEREAS, officers of the Philippine Judges Association, Metropolitan and City Judges Association of the Philippines, and the Philippine Trial Judges League, Inc., who have attended one of the Judge-to-Judge dialogues, noted the effectiveness of the APJR showcase in enhancing the trial judges' understanding of the reform efforts; and

WHEREAS, the officers of the said organizations have requested that the APJR showcase be included in the program of activities in their respective annual conventions.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Court hereby authorizes the conduct of the APJR Showcase at the following events:

Annual Convention of the Philippine Judges Association on 20-21 October 2005 at the Manila Hotel, Manila;

Annual Convention of the Metropolitan and City Judges Association of the Philippines on 28 October 2005 at the New World Hotel, Makati City; and

Annual Convention of the Philippine Trial Judges League, Inc. on 18 November 2005 at the Dynasty Court Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

The following Supreme Court personnel shall conduct the APJR Showcase at the said conventions:

3. Mr. Erwin Ocson Court Management Office, OCA

4. Mrs. Milagros Ong Library Services

5. Mr. Samuel Galope Office of Hon. Justice Antonio T. Carpio

6. Atty. Melissa Dimson Philippine Judicial Academy

7. Ms. Evelyn Toledo-Dumdum PMO

8. Ms. Susana N. Gavino PMO

9. Atty. Catherine Comandante PMO

10. Mr. Dennis Russell D. Baldago PMO

11. Mr. John Paul P. Galang PMO

12. Ms. Paula Cheryl Dumlao PMO

The costs related to the activity shall be charged against the funds administered by the Program Management Office. Participation in the APJR Showcase shall be on official business.
