SUBJECT : Tele-video Conference on the Law on E-Commerce and the Rules on Electronic Evidence, conducted by the Philippine Judicial Academy, on January 29, 2002, 8:30 AM to 12:00 NN.

The Philippine Judicial Academy, with the assistance of The Asia Foundation, will pioneer the use of tele-video conferencing technology as a mode of distance education.

For the first tele-video conferencing session on January 29, 2002, PHILJA will conduct a lecture on the Rules on Electronic Evidence.

Selected judges from Makati, Quezon, Cebu and Davao Cities, preferably those who have not attended lectures on the above topics, shall be invited to participate. They shall be meeting in designated conference sites in Makati, Cebu and Davao, and shall be listening and viewing the lecture conducted in the Makati site. Fifteen (15) to twenty (20) participants can be accommodated in each of the three sites.

In this connection, you are requested to:

1. In Cebu and Davao: select and inform 15 to 20 judges from your area.

2. In Makati: select and inform 5 judges from your area.

3. In Quezon City: select and inform 5 judges from your area.

4. Choose those who have not yet attended lectures on the topic and who would be interested.

5. Ensure that judges are at the site by 8:00AM, January 29, 2002.

The judges so chosen are hereby authorized to attendee half-day tele-video conferencing session on official time. They are advised to see to it that there is no disruption of the court calendar and that parties are notified in advance of any cancelled/re-scheduled hearing.
