SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR SIX (6) MONTHS OF ATTY. ENRIQUE JOAQUIN

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the portion of the Resolution of the Third Division dated 09 July 2008, in Administrative Case No 7881 entitled, "Neil B. Valentino vs. Atty. Enrique Joaquin", to wit:

"Acting on the complaint for disbarment against respondent, the Court resolves to ADOPT and APPROVE the findings of fact, conclusions of law and recommendation of the Investigating Commissioner in the attached Commissioner's Report dated 04 December 2007 as approved by the Board of Governors of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in its Board Resolution No. XVIII-2007-304 dated 14 December 2007. Accordingly, respondent is SUSPENDED from the practice of law for six (6) months for acting negligently in defending the rights of his clients."

Acting on respondent's Motion for Reconsideration of the Resolution No. XVIII-2007-304 dated 14 December 2008 of the Board of Governors of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) and of the Commissioner's Report of the Commission on Bar Discipline, respectively the Court resolves to DENY the motion with FINALITY as no substantial matter were raised to warrant a reconsideration thereof. Pursuant to the Resolution of the Third Division dated 03 September 2008 . Atty. Enrique Joaquin received the latter resolution on 19 August 2008 per Registry Return Receipt No. 1585.
